When Should You Hire a
Real Estate Career
Coach?

The real estate industry can be difficult to dive into. Believe me—I KNOW. Challenges abound for those just starting out as well as those with experience. Whether you’re struggling or just want to take things to the next level, you might be thinking about hiring a real estate career coach.

But how do you know if hiring a career coach is the right move for you right now? Below, we explore five reasons to consider hiring a real estate career coach before taking the plunge.

5 Reasons you may want to hire a real estate coach

You’re new to real estate.

If you are a new real estate agent and feel totally lost as to where to begin, that’s completely normal. I remember just starting out, trying to learn everything on my own. It can be overwhelming! A real estate career coach can be helpful by providing ideas and techniques to level up your business. A coach will also help you develop in your career by giving you feedback.

You feel stuck in your career.

Have you come to a place in your career where you feel stuck, and nothing you have tried seems to work? You may already have a plan to reach the goals you’ve set but just can’t figure out how to put the plan to work. A coach can help you find and implement the  tools you need to get you to start crushing your goals

You’re not making enough sales.

A real estate career coach can help you determine where you are falling short when it comes to lead generation and sales. They’ll look at the systems and processes you have in place and help you adjust them to become more successful.

You need to be held accountable.

A coach is beneficial if you are the type of person who finds it difficult to remain focused and you need someone to help keep you accountable. A good real estate career coach is someone who will touch base with you consistently, help you set goals, and expect you to follow through with your commitments. I find coaches to be very helpful when it comes to initiative—knowing that there’s someone watching can really get you going!

You want a fresh perspective.

Sometimes a business needs fresh eyes and a coach can be those for you. They can look at your system and techniques and see things that can be done differently to help move you to the next level in your business.

Real estate coaching vs. real estate training

Real estate coaching

Coaches are individuals that you pay to have direct input into your business. They work to help you achieve more, conquer obstacles, and stay accountable to your goals.

An experienced coach will look at all your techniques and processes and advise you where changes need to be made. If you hire a coach, keep in mind that every aspect of your business and every move you make within your business will be scrutinized and analyzed.

A good coach will mentor you and be committed to your success—something I wish I had when I was just starting out. So be prepared. Having a coach requires a time investment on your part, and it doesn’t mean you will have less to do. You will still have to do the day-to-day work in your business in addition to being accountable to your coach.

Real estate coaches are a financial investment you put toward the success of your business. Real estate coaches can cost $400 to $500 a month or more, so you need to make sure your business can afford this.

Finally, make sure you find a coach who’s the right fit for you and your business. A coach should understand the goals you have set, both personally and professionally. And don’t forget, the real estate industry is always changing, so make sure the coach you hire is on top of the newest techniques and latest trends.
